The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Big Generator (GB), ridden by C.M. Walsh, Sammy Black (GER), ridden by D.G. Hogan, and Ok Oscar, ridden by M.P. Walsh, all unplaced, where it appeared Big Generator (GB) and Sammy Black (GER) met with interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found that M. P. Walsh was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having taken his previous record in this regard into account, they suspended him for one race day. Furthermore the Stewards cautioned C. M. Walsh concerning the accuracy of his evidence. The Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the withdrawl of Fosters Cross from this race under Regulation 3, as it appeared no rider had been declared for this horse up to 30 minutes prior to the first race as required. Evidence was heard from Mr. Thomas Mullins, trainer, Mr. Michael Carroll, assistant Clerk of the Scales, Miss Nessa Joyce, Racing and Operations manager, Leopardstown Racecourse and B.J.Copoer, rider. Having considered the evidence given, the Stewards referred the matter to the Chief Executive of the Turf Club for further investigation..
