Director, the Starters, the Starting Stalls team leader and Racecourse Inspector were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
Having heard their evidence that the top of the main structure of the stalls had sheared, it was decided that races 2 and 7 should be started by flip start, and races 3,4,5 and 6 by a flag start.
A report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
Shortly after the start Angel Force (IRE), placed sixth, lugged left-handed causing KATH’S LUSTRE, placed eighth, to be slightly checked, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Angel Force (IRE).
Approaching the final furlong the winner Coronation Cottage (GB) edged right-handed causing Amor Kethley (GB), placed fifth, to be slightly checked, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Coronation Cottage (GB).
Following the race, David Probert reported that Equally Fast (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed.
