The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Optum, trained by Eugene M. O'Sullivan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Stewards interviewed Jack Brendan Foley, rider of Erins Benefit, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found Jack Brendan Foley in breach of Regulation 10.3.(g), excessive frequency. Having considered Jack Brendan Foley's record in this regard the Stewards suspended Jack Brendan Foley for four racedays and ordered that he attend R.A.C.E for one days tuition on the correct use of the whip
