The Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Dawn In The Park (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent run at Tipperary on the 22nd July where she pulled up in a Beginners Chase over 2 miles. Michael Molloy, Authorised representative for Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported that their charge was allowed to lead the field today where she was more relaxed and jumped better at a steadier pace over a race that was six furlongs further than Tipperary. He felt that those factors contributed to the improved performance today. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Osco Mosco, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
D.N. Russell, rider of Osco Mosco trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled before eventually being pulled up.
