At the second last fence in the backstraight, the winner, Lord Bryan (IRE) jumped slightly right-handed at the same time that Mr Katanga (IRE), placed fifth, jumped slightly left-handed, resulting in the two bumping, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Mr Katanga (IRE) which started second favourite and finished fifth, was considered.
Rebecca Curtis reported that the gelding was not suited by the Good going on this occasion and would prefer an easier surface; Ben Jones reported that Mr Katanga (IRE) ran flat.
Their explanations were noted.
