The Stewards interviewed A.P. Heskin, rider of Sang Tiger (GER), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that A.P. Heskin was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and consequently suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his previous record into consideration. The Stewards were satisfied that A.P. Heskin had used the whip in the forehand position down the shoulder due to exceptional circumstances and accepted his explanation in this regard. The Stewards received a report from Ms Inge D'Haese, Turf Club Veterinary Officer, in relation to an observation while carrying out a routine post race examination on the winner Casual Approach ridden by B.J. Cooper. Evidence was heard from Ms D'Haese and B.J. Cooper. Having considered the report and the riders response, the Stewards took no further action.
