The Stewards received a report from E.J. O'Connell rider of Get In Pat, who fell on the flat in this race. The rider reported that his mount stumbled and slipped up independently on the approach to the final bend. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the report, the Stewards took no further action. The Stewards requested a report from M.O. Cullinane, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Gone Bust, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge has shown good form in Point to Point's and has always worked well at home. He felt that on his most recent start at Navan his charge was unable to compete in what he felt was a very fast pace. Today's slower pace and waiting tactics had in his opinion, brought about today's improved performance. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
