A query was raised to consider why Brian Ellison was running Forest Bihan (FR) here at Cheltenham on going described as Soft, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Cheltenham on 15 November 2020 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer explained that the owners were particularly keen for Forest Bihan (FR) to take its chance on this occasion.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Ibleo (FR), which started favourite and finished second, lost its right-hind shoe and Nietzsche (GB), placed third, lost its right-fore shoe.
