The winner, As You Like (IRE), landed awkwardly after jumping the final fence, shifting left-handed and causing Included (GB), placed third, to be impeded and carried off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of As You Like (IRE).
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the winner, As You Like (IRE), during routine testing, revealed the gelding lost its right hind shoe.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Samson (GB), which started favourite and finished fourth, had bled from the nose and Included (GB), placed third, lost its right fore shoe.
