Approximately 1 furlong out, Spanish Star (IRE), placed third, shifted marginally right-handed before being quickly corrected by its rider, giving a slight bump to Eloquent Arthur (GB), placed second, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Al Saariyah (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newmarket on 10 July 2021 where the filly finished eighth of eleven, beaten by 5½ lengths.
The representative of Simon & Ed Crisford’s explanation that Al Saariyah (IRE) benefited from the step back in trip to 6 furlongs from 7 furlongs and the drop in grade on this occasion, was noted.
The filly was routine tested.
