The Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Drunken Counsel, placed first, as compared with its previous run at Perth 29th July 2014. Gordon Elliot reported that his charge has shown a lack of enthusiasm when not allowed to dictate or to get things his own way. He added that the gelding was taken on early at Perth on his most recent run and just lost interest. He referred to a similar happening at Bellewstown 6th July when ridden by D.J. Condon. He felt that today he ran unchallenged and close to the pace early on before taking up the running and being left alone to win as he pleased. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Dedoctorsdaughter, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. D.G. Hogan, rider of Dedoctorsdaughter trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled throughout this race.
