An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding why the left-hand gate of stall 4 did not open completely.
The Starter, the Stalls Team Leader and the Clerk of the Course were interviewed and having reviewed recordings of the incident, the Stewards were satisfied that this was due to the stalls handler retrieving his lead rein after loading Bahuta Acha (GB) (GB) into stall number 3 and a result, the right- hand flap of the stall did not resume to its correct position.
A report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
Following the race, Charles Bishop reported that Gambon (GER), which started joint-favourite and finished second, was slowly away.
