Review tramore 30th May
John Oxx has a big week coming up as he prepares Sea The Stars for a tilt at the Epsom Derby and he limbered up with a Tramore double.
Both winners were ridden by Fran Berry, who made it a great afternoon on a personal level by completing a treble.
Oxx's Samovar was the first to score, appreciating the big step up to a mile and three-quarters to land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden in good style.
Berry tracked the leader Extreme Impact for most of the way before delivering a decisive challenge on the final bend, and the 2-1 favourite stretched clear to score by four lengths.
The jockey was on board again when Sheridaniya brought up the Currabeg handler's double with what was in the end an emphatic victory in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.
The daughter of Sinndar (evens) led under a furlong out to beat long-time leader Bannow Rose by two and a half lengths.
Berry made it a treble when coming wide round the final bend to grab the www.tramore-racecourse.com Handicap with a late surge on David Marnane's Sian Thomas (7-1), getting there by three-quarters of a length.< Not Til Monday had occupied second spot in all three races this season so he wasn't winning out of turn in the Graun Hill Handicap.< Moon Luck attempted to make all, but Not Til Monday always had her in his sights and the pair battled it out through the final two furlongs, with David Myerscough's 9-2 shot forging ahead to score by four lengths under Robbie Burke.< Daisy Mae Bates (10-1) has hardly set the world alight but she got her head in front on her eighth start in the Lisselan Fillies Handicap.
Wayne Lordan sent the Ted Walsh-trained four-year-old into the lead with over two furlongs to run and she ran on strongly to win by three and a half lengths.< Fingers (8-1) followed up a recent victory over hurdles by winning the Waterford & Tramore Directors (Ladies) Maiden on the level. Aisling O'Brien took it up three furlongs out on her father Kevin's seven-year-old and kept him going strongly for a two-length victory.
