Review tramore 13th Aug
< Scots Gaelic got the better of a thrilling duel with hot favourite Zanoubiya in the Tramore Supporters Club Maiden on day two of the Tramore Festival.
Fran Berry attempted to give the field the slip on the turn for home and had all bar the 7-4 winner in serious trouble.
Danny Grant drove Scots Gaelic upsides in the final furlong and Pat Flynn's charge got his head in front and kept up the gallop to score by a length and a quarter.
The Fitzgerald Life & Pensions Ltd Handicap produced another thrilling finish as Bryan Cooper just got Dusty Trail up close home to get the better of a four-way go for the line, scoring by a short-head from Riverscape with Red Key and Academic Accolade dead-heating for third, just a neck further back.
However, after a stewards' inquiry, Academic Accolade was demoted to fourth.
Wayne Lordan may have missed out on Riverscape, but he made no mistake in rousting Diversify home in the www.thetote.com Handicap.< Mary James looked to have a commanding lead at the furlong pole, but Lordan drove the 14-1 chance into the lead in the dying strides to win going away by three-quarters of a length.
Helen Mooney notched a winner in the BBQ Evening At Tramore Maiden as she drove the Dessie Hughes-trained Swiftmarc home to land the spoils by five lengths from Mr Clyde
The 9-4 favourite was one of five horses in a line in front as they started the downhill stretch, but her picked up nicely for Mooney before running on well to score.< Hazeymm made it two wins in two starts this year when finishing strongly for Andrew McNamara in the Richard Power Handicap Hurdle.
The 5-1 chance reeled in longg-time leader The Last Stand on the turn for home, and ran away to beat the staying-on Whispering Wind
