Third at Cork last time out, Thomas O'Leary's Brave Jonnie (9-1) reversed form with runner-up that day Droim Toll to record a decisive success over the 100-30 favourite in the Fundraising Opportunities Handicap Hurdle.

O'Leary said: "I had Brave Jonnie 95% written off as useless before he was third at Cork the last day and he just seems to have improved - he had been showing nothing at home.

"We'll go for a winners' race or handicap next - he seems to go on any ground."

Brave Jonnie's rider Niall Madden had to settle for second when The Phantom Piper couldn't quite catch the Philip Rothwell-trained Rockers Field (6-1) in the Glenview and Rathbarry Studs Beginners Chase.

Rothwell explained: "I'm delighted for Donal (MacAuley) as he has now ridden a winner over hurdles and chases as a professional.
