< Empress Toorah (11-2) confirmed her liking for Roscommon with a comfortable victory in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon Handicap on Monday evening.
Sabrina Harty's filly landed a race at this venue last summer and followed up her victory at Cork 13 days ago by a length and a quarter verdict from Strait Of Zanzibar
Having travelled well, Lee Roche sent his mount to the front early in the home straight and never looked like being caught.< Last Waltz (13-2) built on a promising debut effort with an impressive success in the Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Auction Race.
The David Wachman-trained filly finished third to a subsequent Listed winner at Cork in May and showed the benefit of that experience as she got off the mark in style.
After taking it up two furlongs out, she kicked clear in eye-catching fashion and came home three and three-quarter lengths clear of Reddot Roman who stayed on well on his debut.
Father and son combination Tom and Rory Cleary teamed up with Greanta (9-1) to land the Sean Cleary Memorial Handicap, named in honour of their son and brother.
Making his first start for the local handler, the former Jim Bolger inmate came with a determined late run to wear down the front-running Liberty's Gift and prevail by three-quarters of a length.< Acid (11-2) was a gutsy winner of the Pyramid Bookmakers Fillies Handicap.
Jesmond set the pace but was quickly swamped off the home turn and it was Kevin Prendargast's filly that stayed on best to deny Cocoon by three-quarters of a length.
The Michael And Teresa Keogh Memorial 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle kicked off the National Hunt action on the mixed card and it produced a one-two for Gordon Elliott.
With little separating the front six runners approaching the last, it was Elliott duo Persiflage and Officer Sydney (10-3) that forged clear on the run in and the latter came out on top by a length and a quarter.< Wate And Sea (11-4) bounced back to form when scoring by two lengths from Presenting Mahler in the Murray Ambulance Service Mares Handicap Hurdle.
