< Pencilhimin (20-1), a full brother to 2006 Gold Cup hero War Of Attrition, made a winning start to his racing career in the Student Raceday 11th April Maiden Hurdle at Limerick.
Gavin Cromwell's Presenting gelding held a clear advantage turning into the straight and although I'lltelimar King gave chase, the winner skipped over the final two flights and held a four-and-a-half length advantage at the line.< Gold Bullet (8-13) delivered on the promise of his hurdling debut second when easily taking the Tote Jackpot Maiden Hurdle.
Andrew Lynch had very little to worry about throughout the journey and after taking over from long-time leader Not For You three from the finish, Tom Taaffe's grey found plenty up the home straight to draw nine lengths clear.
The Family Day 7th April Handicap Hurdle saw Whiskey And Rye follow up last month's Clonmel triumph.< Concrete And Clay Tristram Shandy and the Brian O'Connell-ridden winner jumped the second-last as one but the latter was in front coming to the final flight and made no mistake as the 4-1 joint-favourite.
Robert Tyner's Byerley Babe made light work of landing the odds in the Munster Supporters Club Mares Maiden Hurdle.
The 2-7 shot travelled with ease on the heels of the leaders and cruised to the front when Phillip Enright gave her a squeeze.
She passed the post with a very comfortable length to spare over Tudor Fashion < Mr Shankly ground out a hard-fought win under Barry Cash in the wwww.thetote.com Handicap Hurdle.
William Murphy's charge showed grit and determination in the finish to see off Slaney Conflict by three-and-a-quarter lengths.
Michael Cleary's Waxies Dargle (12-1) edged a half-length verdict over Harvey Logan in the Munster (Pro/Am) Flat Race, while Katie Walsh drove Nouveau Moulin (5-1) to victory in the concluding Jack Absolute (Ladies) Mares Flat Race.
