< Jazz Girl (9-2), runner-up at the Curragh last weekend, went one better when finishing with a flourish in Killarney's J & B O'Sullivan Kingdom Gold Cup Handicap.< Shalaman looked like improving on Wednesday's second here when taking up the running inside the final quarter-mile, but he couldn't quite shake off his rivals.
Andy Oliver's Jazz Girl was stepping up from a mile and a quarter, but rallied in the closing stages and overhauled Shalaman to score by a head.< Adelana (5-2) battled hard to repel Chicago Girl in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden.
The runner-up, trained and ridden by Johnny Murtagh, swished her tail when asked for an effort but her resolution cannot be questioned because she dug deep once headed by Adelana and only went down by a short head.< Slipper Satin (9-2) made a successful start to her handicap career in the John O'Connor Engineering Handicap, returning from a three-month absence to beat Campestral Scene by a length and a half.
Class told in the Killarney Welcomes Bordeaux Mares Beginners Chase as Shadow Eile started her fencing career in the best possible fashion.
Down the field in the Galway Hurdle but second in a Grade One at the Punchestown Festival back in April, Dot Love's eight-year-old was sent off the 2-5 favourite and her supporters had no real cause for concern and she sauntered seven lengths clear of Ashbury < Spring Heeled continued his progression with a dogged victory in the Bet Online At thetote.com Novice Chase.
The 7-2 second-favourite hit the crossbar at the Galway Festival but went one better by catching Burn And Turn and The Real Article on the run to the line to register a three-quarter-length verdict, while it was a red-letter day for Nina Carberry as she sent out her first winner as a trainer when Blaze Of Fire landed the Malton.com Handicap Chase.
