Review kilbeggan 22nd Jun
< Trimbellina produced an exemplary all-the-way performance to win the feature race at Kilbeggan, the Genesis Handicap Hurdle.
Roger Loughran quickly issued an unerring statement of attempt aboard the 11-2 chance, who was supplementing her maiden triumph here in May.
The six-year-old was always on top of proceedings and only had to be kept up to her work to hold Lady Hillingdon at bay by 10 lengths.
Hughes said: "That was an exceptional performance considering it was her first handicap - I didn't think she'd win like that.
"She went some lick and I didn't think she'd be able to keep it up but she's a mare and is improving all of the time."
Henry de Bromhead was left cock-a-hoop after Clifton Debut won the Hurley Family Kilbeggan Handicap Hurdle under Andrew Lynch.
"That was great," said De Bromhead.
"The key to him is the ground and we've had to wait 10 months to get it.
"We may have a look at a three-mile race in Bellewstown or Tipperary, and then maybe have a look at Galway, all subject to ground."< Talkin' Tough (7-1) left behind his recent disappointment at Ballinrobe to get back to winning ways in the T And V Novice Hurdle.
It was also Andrew McNamara's first victory since breaking a wrist.
Trainer Brian Hamilton said: "This lad ran disappointingly at Ballinrobe, he struck into himself early on and thankfully Slippers Madden pulled him up straight away.
"We will probably head to Galway with him next."

The 14-1 chance is trained by Michael Butler and was ridden by the handler's son, Micky Butler.
Butler snr said: "We have no real plans for him, he loves the firm ground and he's not big enough to go chasing."
