Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf fourth Up was beaten on her reappearance at Dundalk, as she could not reel in Marvada in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race.< Royal Blue Star took the field along at a steady gallop in the one mile contest, but Marvada (13-2) struck the front over a furlong out under Shane Foley.
Up came from the rear of the field to give chase, but she never looked like getting on terms and Marvada strode on for a three-quarters of a length victory.
Foley completed a big-race double when taking the most valuable handicap on the card, the www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap, aboard Banna Boirche
The hat-trick seeking Billyford appeared to have fended off all his rivals on the home straight, but Foley got Banna Boirche (2-1) upsides in the final furlong and came out on top by a head.< Pencil Hill showed a nice turn of foot to land the Dundalk Apprentice Handicap for Joanna Morgan.
Gary Phillips held the 8-1 chance just off the pace and after bursting through a furlong out, he went on to beat Copper Dock by two and a quarter lengths.< Alhellal left some scratchy form over hurdles firmly behind him when scoring on his Flat debut in the Dundalk Stadium On Facebook Maiden.
A winner over timber at Ballinrobe last August, the 12-1 chance put two wretched subsequent runs behind him when beating Mundher by a length.
Apprentice jockey Sam James produced an enterprising ride to land the Dundalk Stadium on Facebook Handicap on Give Me Shelter
The 25-1 chance made all and was travelling best on turning for home and James poured on the pressure from then on, eventually recording a two length win over Bendzoldan
The step up to two miles did the trick for Gan Locht (12-1), who registered her first success at the sixth attempt in the [email protected] Handicap under Shane Gray.
