Review dundalk 19th Jan
< Boragh Steps knuckled down well in the Bar One Racing Race to complete a Dundalk brace for Joseph O'Brien.
The 7-4 shot seized the initiative halfway down the straight, only to be headed by the market leader Canford Art for whom it looked a matter of how far.
However, Boragh Steps had more experience to call upon and responded really well to Wayne Lordan's urgings, getting back up in the shadow of the post to prevail by a neck.
The O'Brien-trained Uncle Henry proved much too good for his Dundalk Business Club 2018 Maiden rivals.
Donnacha O'Brien settled the 9-4 favourite in mid-division and brought him wide to make his challenge in the straight, where he picked up the leading bunch before stretching three and a half lengths away from Duke Of Waspington < Adieux completed back-to-back victories over the extended mile and a quarter in the Race Displays Handicap under Lordan.
Raised 5lb for her triumph just before Christmas, the application of a hood sparked further improvement in Pat Martin's mare and she stuck her neck out to keep Here For The Craic half a length at bay at odds of 8-1.
Martin followed up when Ishebayorgrey regained the winning thread in the Kennedy's Bar & Restaurant, Dundalk Handicap.
Killian Leonard sent the 7-1 chance into the lead as they entered the final furlong and had a willing partner, with Ishebayorgrey running right the way to the line to dispose of Grey Danube by a length.
First reserve Polymnia entered the final furlong of the Crowne Plaza Race & Stay 2018 Handicap with a good advantage, but they were queuing up to challenge and the one to finish best of all was top-weight Prove The Point (20-1).< Master Speaker won the Fast Shipping Ltd Handicap, while divisions one and two of the Matthews.ie Trip To Cheltenham 2018 Handicap went to Bog War and Carvelas respectively.
