< Dandy Boy came out on top in a tight finish to the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race at Dundalk.

Colm O'Donoghue produced David Marnane's colt late to grab a half-length victory over Curl Cat with Deal Breaker a short head away third.

Marnane was represented by his bloodstock agent brother Con, who said of the 5-1 winner: "It's been a great week as I also sold Fleeting Spirit, who won the July Cup, and She's Our Mark who won today at the Curragh.

"I bought this lad in Italy and sold him privately to Malih Lahej Al Basti. He has 28 horses in training in England but this is his first in Ireland."

Curl Cat's trainer Willie McCreery and jockey Davy Moran went one better with Liberty Island (11-2) in the Marshes Shopping Centre Dundalk Handicap.

"He's an improving horse and the key was the draw. He needs fast ground and hasn't got it all summer," said McCreery.
