Review down royal 20th Jun
John Oxx is having a much quieter season than last year but he picked up a decent pot when Shareen completed a hat-trick in the EBF Coolmore Stud Ulster Oaks Fillies Handicap at Down Royal.
The Aga Khan-owned three-year-old was running from 6lb out of the weights despite having won her only two starts this season and is clearly on the upgrade.
Ben Curtis sent her straight to the front in the extended 10-furlong contest and the 7-2 chance cleared away in the home straight before comfortably holding the late rush of Mid Mon Lady by a length and a half.
Oxx will have been hoping to double up with the well-bred Edallora in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden and she poked her head in front going into the final furlong, but eventually finished third.
High Chaparral's sister Dance On By who had a troubled passage, was the first to go past but she could not hold the late surge of Dermot Weld's newcomer Stroke Of Love (9-1), who won by half a length under Pat Smullen.< Dreamalittledream finished second in a Listowel handicap on her seasonal debut earlier this month and she stepped up on that to win the Duke Of York Maiden with the minimum of fuss.
Sent straight into the lead by Wayne Lordan, who was completing a double, the David Wachman-trained filly (4-7 favourite) quickened up on the turn for home and breezed clear to beat Laureldean Spirit by five lengths.
Lordan got Pimlico Sound (13-8 favourite) quickly into his stride in the www.thetote.com Handicap and Thomond O'Mara's grey was never headed as he broke his duck, winning by three and a half lengths.
David Marnane's Act Of Love (11-8 favourite) landed the Dark Horse Auction Maiden with some authority, going clear turning in to win by three and a half lengths under Colm O'Donoghue.
