< Wood Breizh (8-1) ensured the journey to Clonmel was worth it for Ruby Walsh as they won the www.grahamnorris.com Memorial Handicap Hurdle.

In a thrilling finish, all of the eight runners were in with a chance entering the home straight and Walsh expertly delivered his sole mount of the day to challenge at the last.

The Willie Mullins-trained grey finished best of all and a pulled a length clear of Shantou Flyer at the line, with Tulsa Jack a short head back in third.

There was another exciting climax in the Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Mares Beginners Chase as Indian Fairy sprang a 20-1 surprise.

Eoin Doyle's six-year-old had plenty to find on hurdles ratings but stepped up on an improved chasing debut second to go one better.

Adam O'Neill's mount had four rivals hot on his heels as he led the field into the final two fences, but managed to fend them off and held Our Katie by half a length at the line.

Fever PItch (5-2) made all to gain a deserved success in the Wilderness Rated Chase.

Arthur Moore's gelding had been performing well in handicaps and although he was made to work hard in the four-runner contest, the J P McManus-owned eight-year-old asserted late on to register a three-length success over Too Scoops

There was a one-two for McManus in the Cashel Maiden Hurdle as Sir Abbot justified 2-7 favouritism, but only just.< I Knew Well set the pace and Robert Tyner's charge had to dig deep on the run in to get on top, eventually prevailing by half a length.< Oscar Invitation (10-3) got off the mark with a gutsy display in the opening Cahir Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Eoin Girffin's charge took it up turning for home but looked booked for second spot when Mystic Lass loomed up large approaching the last.

However, the winner pulled out some more and stretched two and a half lengths clear on the run in.

Former Sir Michael Stoute inmate Diamond Dame (7-1) opened her hurdling account with ease in the Powerstown Demesne (Q.R.) Handicap Hurdle, recording an eight-length verdict over Hard Bought
