Review bellewstown 6th Jul
Aidan O'Brien's colt I Have A Dream made his seasonal bow a winning one when he drew on his considerable reserves of stamina to take the Essential Drogheda Magazine Maiden at Bellewstown.
Joseph O'Brien looked to have his work cut out coming off the final bend as long-time leader Precious Stone bowled along in front, but the filly was soon running on empty in the testing conditions.
It was in the final furlong of the one-and-a-half-mile test that I Have A Dream (5-2 joint-favourite), a three-year-old son of Galileo, began to put in his best work and he stormed clear to score by three and three-quarter lengths.< Scream Blue Murder (11-10 favourite) was found wanting in Listed company on her last start, but Tommy Stack's filly found the less exacting task presented by the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden much to her liking.
Quickly away under Wayne Lordan, she grabbed the rails position and having brushed off All Ablaze soon after turning into the straight, cruised clear of Desert Of Dreams to win by four and three-quarter lengths.< Faleena (6-1) got off the mark at Navan last month and the Pat Flynn-trained filly followed up in decisive fashion in the Fast Shipping Ireland Handicap.
She broke smartly from the stalls in the hands of Danny Grant and led all the way, getting the opposition in trouble a quarter of a mile out and running on strongly to account for Phebes Wish by two lengths.
Willie Mullins' crack jumper Blackstairmountain went off the 4-9 favourite for the Meath Farm Machinery (QR) Race and absolutely sluiced up, cruising into the lead off the final bend and easing 10 lengths clear under Patrick Mullins. He now goes for the Galway Plate.
James McCabe's well-backed Statue Of Dreams (9-4 favourite) defied his wide draw under Chris Hayes as he grabbed Drinmoy Lad in the shadow of the post to take the Heineken Inter Vintners Pub Challenge Race Nite Handicap by a neck.
