Review ballinrobe 21st Jun
< Fleur De Nuit was an impressive bumper winner at the end of last month and John Bleahen's mare returned to Ballinrobe to repeat the trick on her first outing on the Flat.
Never far off the pace in the hands of Declan McDonogh in the Ladies Day At Ballinrobe Maiden, the six-year-old (3-1) was asked to quicken up a quarter of a mile out.
The response was eyecatching and she cleared right away from the field to win by 13 lengths.< Devil's Elbow didn't get much acclaim for winning a modest Downpatrick bumper last month, but he clearly has ability and followed up in the Purcell Construction (QR) Maiden Hurdle.
Katie Walsh sent her father Ted's 5-1 shot past favourite Boxer Beat on the home bend and he came clear up the straight to win by eight lengths.< South Wing took the Mulranny Park Hotel (QR) Handicap Hurdle under Nina Carberry, with the odds-on Uncle Taffy a major disappointment as he sought a four-timer.
The Gordon Elliott-trained winner (6-1) led after two out and flew the last to score by five and a half lengths as Uncle Taffy, who appeared to travel well, faded into fourth without being given a hard time.
John Oxx's Dawariya (4-9 favourite) looked ill at ease on the track and gave her supporters some anxious moments before taking the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.
She got a couple of slaps from Johnny Murtagh before asserting by three-quarters of a length from Black Belt
Willie Mullins' 6-5 favourite Dorset Square found the company more to his liking in the John Madden & Sons Handicap after making no show over hurdles in France and he eased ahead in the final furlong under Pat Smullen to win by two lengths off his low mark.
The Coleman Quarries Handicap turned into a battle of the greys and it went to Follyfoot (12-1), who led off the home turn under Ronan Whelan and held Inishtearaght by a length.
