Cousins Emmet and David Mullins had a success to remember when Zero Ten (6/4 into 5/4) pleased his many supporters and connections in the Connolly’s RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction Hurdle Series Final at Punchestown.
Runner-up The Big Dog got impeded two out where David Mullins delivered Zero Ten through seamlessly between horses to come with his winning run.
Paddy Power now go 14/1 first show about Zero Ten for the Galway Hurdle, given his owner’s the Mee family’s love of the Ballybrit extravaganza.
Powers might have takers at that offer given that Zero Ten ultimately stylishly accounted for the aforementioned The Big Dog by four and three parts of a length.
It was a length and a quarter then to Presented Well in third.
“We're delighted and it's a great pot for this series,” said Emmet Mullins.
“It's brilliant for the middle market at the sales and it's going to create huge interest at the upcoming stores sales this year.
“He's a very versatile horse and I'd imagine we'll keep him on the go for the rest of the summer and he might end up at the Galway festival.
“The Mees' season kind of revolves around Galway and I'd say we'll be mapping a route to there. Where he'll pitch up I'm not so sure.
“He's a point-to-point winner so chasing is another option but he's a very versatile horse. He won his bumper around there and I'd say he'd have the gears if we went the Flat route.
“I have about 15 horses for the track at the minute and it's great when you have horses like this to put your name up in lights on a big day like today.”
