Youmdor made an impressive start to his hurdling career and in the process got the famous McNeill Family colours off to a winner start with champion trainer Willie Mullins in the Thanks To All Our Sponsors In 2020 Maiden Hurdle at Gowran Park.
The French import won twice on the Flat and was sent off the 1/3 favourite here against eight rivals.
Paul Townend ’s mount led after two out and soon cruised clear to readily beat Bigz Belief by 16 lengths with Compl;ete Fantasy another length away in third.
Townend said, “He’s a smart horse and handled the ground very well for a three-year-old. He got underneath a few hurdles early on but the last couple where his best jumps.
“He’s exciting going forward and it’s nice to get these colours off to a winning start.”
Paddy Power reacted by making Youmdor one of the leading contenders at this stage for the Triumph Hurdle introducing him at 14/1.
