Yolo Again produced a game front-running performance to open her account at the third time of asking in the opening five-furlong maiden at Navan this afternoon.
Niall McCullagh bounced out in front on the 7/1 shot and she responded well when tackled by Isle Of Innisfree over a furlong from home.
The Johnny Murtagh-trained daughter of Toronado stuck her neck out gamely to repel the Ballydoyle horse by neck after a good tussle in the closing stages.
The winner has shown a progressive profile having been ninth on debut here in April and improving to finish third at the Curragh on her second run.
McCullagh said: “She showed a lot of pace on heavy ground at the Curragh and we felt on better ground there would be improvement. She jumped, travelled and she’ll improve again.
“She fought well, and when a big strong colt came up on her outside she battled well and got to the line good. It’s onwards and upwards with her.
“It’s beautifully watered ground, and the sting is out of it.”
