Just six runners in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden but a cracking finish as Yet (4/1) got the better of the Evens favourite Orinoco River
A big rangy filly by War Front, Yet made the running under Seamie Heffernan (who switched from non-runner Heart To Heart) but looked in trouble when the smooth-travelling favourite came upsides racing to the furlong marker.
When Heffernan shook up his filly, though, she pulled out a bit extra to score by a neck.
The winner, bred in the purple, is out of a half-sister to Giant’s Causeway and You’resothrilling (dam of Gleneagles and Happily).
Aidan O’Brien, successful at York earlier in the afternoon with the 14/1 chance Snowfall in the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes, is now six from nine with his two-year-old runners so far this season.
“She's a massive big two-year-old. She had been working well and she's done it well,” said Heffernan.
“She has plenty of size to her but she doesn't feel weak. I think I got headed but her heart is in the right place.”
