Yeats declared for Irish Field St Leger

Thu 10th Sep 2009, 15:28

Yeats is one of eight horses this declared this morning for the Group1 Irish Field St Leger at the Curragh on Saturday.

The 4-time Ascot Gold Cup winner will have his work cut out as he faces strong opposition from Profound Beauty and Schiaparelli which is one of three English trainer challengers.

Aidan O'Brien is responsible for half of the six runners in Saturday's other Group 1 contest at the Curragh, The Ladbrokes.com Vincent O'Brien National Stakes.

His main hope rests with Alfred Noble who will be seeking his fourth straight victory, but the unbeaten pair of Chabal and Kingsfort will certainly make a race of it.
