Trainer Eddie Lynam completed a double at Naas today as his Fort Del Oro landed the featured Listed Woodlands Stakes, under jockey Bill Lee.
The daughter of Lope De Vega was a winner also at Listed level when last seen at the Curragh in October and today stayed on well in the closing stages for a length win over Monsieur Joe
Lynam was earlier successful with the Oisin Orr ridden Louis Leroy and following his latest win, stated “we took a bit of a chance coming back in trip as she's obviously a six furlong filly but she did it well enough and it's good to get her started for the year.
“It was a good professional performance and it's good to get these sprinters out and started.
“We'll try and win a Group race with her now - I think she's very talented.
“She'll probably go up to six furlongs now although she'll get entries over five. We have the Duke Of York, Greenlands and Ballyogan and those type of races - if I don't mess up, she'll win one of them!”
