Wins for Elliott in Scotland & up north
A half-brother to the Grade 1 winner, Garruth and the useful Friend's Amigo, Bacher Boy (made a couple of mistakes) gained the third win of his life when landing the Kerry Foods European Breeders Fund Beginners Chase on outing number two over fences at Downpatrick.
Paul Carberry rode Bacher Boy in the familiar Sean Gallagher silks for Gordon Elliott who was completing an across the card double following the success of The Ice Factor at Perth under Tony McCoy.
Bacher Boy obviously has plenty of ability and Carberry really excelled on the seven-year-old here, at pains to kid the Bach gelding along for as long as possible. When asked to go and win his race Bacher Boy quickly found what was required to put the race to bed. He crossed the line an unflattering one and three parts of a length to the good from Hollyville
Huge outsider Hidden Profit owned like the winner by Sean Gallagher, made a bold bid from the front but he eventually had to settle for third, a further three and a half lengths back.
Meanwhile favourite Asymmetrical made some slight mistakes and eventually finished completely tailed off. He was subsequently found to be lame.
