The opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden at Dundalk this evening went to the 13/2 newcomer Tennessee Wildcat for trainer Ger Lyons and jockey Gary Carroll.
The son of Kheleyf was held up by Carroll and produced with perfect timing to lead a furlong out. The colt then showed signs of greeness when veering left towards the inside rail but Carroll ably kept his mount together for a comfortable win.
Afterwards Lyons said “he's as green as grass – we don't train them to wi first time out but he is very smart and he has always shown that he is a nice horse. It's good to see his homework transferring to the track.
“We have a nice bunch of two year olds this season.”
