William Ashford overturned form with Count Of Carabass to take the spoils in the seven furlong apprentice handicap at Limerick.
The pair raced over an extended six furlongs at this track last Monday with Count Of Carabass winning by a length from William Ashford but it was a different ending today.
Tom Madden delivered William Ashford to catch Elusive Approach at the furlong pole and the pair stayed gun-barrel straight to aim for the line as Count Of Carabass threw down the gauntlet on the outer.
Revenge was secured by three parts of a length at 13/2. Count Of Carabass was an 11/2 chance. Avalanche at 14/1 was half a length back in third.
Trainer John Hayden said: "He rode him a bit differently from the last day and the horse stayed on well today.
"He'll run at Naas on Sunday (week) and I'll keep things rolling and hope they stay that way.
"He has a bit of toe and might jump hurdles but that'll be later on and we'll wait for next year."
