Whopper gamble landed in bumper
Upsanddowns wins to the delight of those who backed him at 50/1

From as big as 50/1 this morning Upsanddowns landed a proper gamble when decisively winning Kilbeggan’s bumper for trainer Ray Hackett and jockey Declan Queally.
The 9/2 shot had only been seen in a Cork bumper in January when 12th of 14. Today was a different story as he got on terms with Marley Exit with half a mile to run. With two furlongs to go Queally drove him clear as he scooted in by 13 lengths.
Ray Hackett said: “He was 50s this morning. The lads got a nice few quid on. He’s a good horse. We had him fairly straight today. It’s 230 days since his last run so he’ll come on a bit for it. We’ll look at Listowel and he could go for a winners’ bumper there.”
Marley Exit (4/1) was second and she was 13 lengths to the good over Beluckyagain the 6/4 favourite who was off the bridle from six furlongs out.
This was Ray Hackett’s second training success. Murtys Delight scored for him in Limerick on St Patrick’s Day.
