Whatever he claims, Sheehy has the winning habit

Designer Cailin (9/2) made the breakthrough three weeks ago at Dundalk when getting up on the line for a narrow success and followed up by a nose in the Extra Places Everyday At BetVictor Handicap.
Mikey Sheehy ’s mount was prominent early and led after a furlong. The daughter of Strath Burn got a break on the field entering the final quarter mile but it was a long last furlong as the reserve Sense Of Romance (25/1) threw down a strong late challenge.
It was on the nod but the photograph showed that Sheehy’s mount was in front where it mattered.
Sheehy, who may lose a winner having incorrectly claimed 5lb here on Wednesday, was completing a 32/1 double having won earlier on Golden Twilight and is maintaining his fine form having recently had his claim reduced to 3lb.
Winning trainer Pat Martin said: “She’s lucky as she won by a short-head the last day and a nose tonight.
“Mathematically I thought we were up against it as she originally went up 3lb and then we got 2lb more when (fifth home) Ellabella won. Then Mikey (Sheehy) lost 2lb when his claim was reduced.
“He gets on really well with her. He got a soft lead tonight which was a help and she’s really game and tough. She’ll probably keep going.”
