Ferrybank (100/30f) gained an overdue but timely third success today, proving the well-backed winner of Dundalk's Join Us On Our Social Channels Handicap (Div II).
Rated 84 at his peak in 2022, the six-year-old's previous success came in July 2021 and having been beaten times 20 subsequently, today reappeared racing from a career-low rating of 53, under Bill Lee.
Backed from morning 12s, Ferrybank opened 11/2 on ring prices, was returned a heavily-supported 100/30 chance and won readily from Rock Basher
Winning trainer Ted Walsh reported "he looked well and everything, and it is the first time the owner (his wife Helen) came along!”
He added “he hadn't run for a couple of months although young (Ben) Coen said he ran well enough here the last day.
"He likes to be wide and was drawn wide. He was game, pulled it out and might win another one. He gallops out well.
“He won over a stiff seven in Leopardstown one day and if you win a stiff seven at Leopardstown, you get a mile around here. He had dropped down a fair bit (in the ratings) compared to what he was.”
