The well-backed Nasution got up close home to win the opener at Listowel on Kerry National Day, the Listowel Arms Median Auction Maiden.
The grey son of Clodovil finished ninth of eighteen to Ol’ Man River on his debut at the Curragh last month and he was available at 3/1 in a place this morning.
The David Wachman trained colt opened on-course at just 13/8 and was backed into clear 6/4 favouritism at the off.
Settled in third by Wayne Lordan he was pushed along from three furlong out and was ridden a furlong and a half from home.
He got to the front inside in the final furlong and kept on well to score by three parts of a length. Cape Wolfe who was the 7/4 favourite this morning, finished second at 5/2 under Gary Carroll for Ger Lyons while Dudes And Diamonds (7/2) was a head back in third for the O’Shea’s.
David Wachman said afterwards: "He is very raw and he is still a very slow learner. He should improve again and Wayne was very good on him. It is possible that he could run again this season."
