Anvika (8/1 — 9/2) improved on a recent Dundalk runner-up effort with an all-out nose win at that course today, landing the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden for the Spyglass Syndicate, jockey Robbie Colgan and trainer Sheila Lavery.
Runner-up previously over today's course-and-distance on November 1, the filly today tracked the leaders and prevailed at the line, beating Clarita by the minimum amount.
Trainer Lavery said "she was late starting because she had a little issue in the spring. I'm thrilled with her and how she has taken to the surface - she has just got stronger and better.
"I think she is more a seven-furlong filly and, when she learns to relax, we will step her up. I'll look at the programme and might just put her away now but I haven't thought beyond today.
"I'll let her mature into her brain and then run her on nice grass. I'm looking forward to that. She's a gorgeous Dandy Man filly out of a Giant's Causeway mare."
