The Ado McGuinness-trained Loaded stayed on strongly in the closing stages to land the second division of the apprentice handicap at Dundalk. Dubai Rainbow kicked for home turning into the straight and looked to have her rivals on the stretch but Loaded stuck to his guns well.
Gavin Ryan got a good tune from the 7/4 favourite in the closing stages as he grabbed that rival in the last 50 yards and record a three-parts-of-a-length win. Everyhouronthehour also stayed on well to grab the runner-up spot close home.
Loaded was gaining a deserved success at the track having been narrowly denied on his last visit.
McGuinness said:- “He’s ran good solid races and deserved to have a win. The mile suited him.
“It’s very unusual for a horse to come back from Hong Kong to win races in Dundalk but Alice (Fitzgerald) got him back. She bred him and sold him.
“She decided when he was so well handicapped to send him up to us and see if we could sweeten him up as he’d gone very sour out there.
“He got a good ride and they went good and fast which suited him.
“I might source a few more horses in Hong Kong now!”
