The J.P. McManus owned, Tony Martin trained White Arm was the well backed winner of the concluding Simonstown Handicap Chase at Navan today, winning under jockey Mark Walsh.
The 13/8 favourite, backed from 5/2 this morning, raced with the pace and in the end stayed on well for a comfortable win over Milan Flyer
“He stays and he likes the ground,” said Martin.
“He ran a blinder at Fairyhouse — it was a great run. It wasn't the best race today and there was only a small turn out but he can do no more than he did.
“He jumped well and that seems to be his job — that ground and trip.”
