Dermot Weld sends a powerful trio west of the Shannon for this evening’s all Flat meeting at Ballinrobe where the first on an eight-race card gets underway at 4.40pm.
The Rosewell House maestro has shown definite signs of hitting form with five winners in recent weeks and Umneyaat looks to have very strong claims in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.
Shadwell’s homebred Dansili filly has been a model of consistency in seven previous outings, and the form of her close-up fourth to Create Belief at the Curragh last month received a timely boost when the latter provided Ben Coen and Johnny Murtagh with a landmark success in the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot.
Weld and Oisin Orr also team up in the featured Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Handicap with Port Sunlight
Moyglare Stud’s four-year-old won a Gowran Park maiden on testing ground at Gowran Park last autumn, and the daughter of Harzand is now stepped up in trip after finishing third to Max Mayhem at Roscommon.
Weld has booked 5lb claimer Sam Ewing to ride his other runner this evening - Clan Jock in division one of the GAIN The Advantage Series Handicap.
The lightly-raced gelding only joined Weld this season and should be suited by this step up to nearly 1m5f after catching the eye staying on late behind Duquesa Beach at Gowran Park last Monday.
Elsewhere on the card, Alice Kitty looks set to go off at odds-on for Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley in the John Madden & Sons Claiming Race while My Mate Mozzie looks the one to beat in the Paddy Smyth Memorial Apprentice Maiden.
The Punchestown Festival bumper winner has most to fear from the experienced Dewcup with Dylan Brown McMonagle a significant booking.
The going remains good following no rain yesterday and watering took place overnight. The forecast is mainly dry and breezy.
There is a slight change to race distances with the first four races being run over 1m1f 125yards and the final four over 1m4f 169yards.
