Weld records eighth Galway winner
Dermot Weld is well on course to surpass his previous personal best score of ten Galway Festival winners when moving onto the eight winner mark at this year’s Festival, when his Rock Critic bolted up in the Tote Trifecta Handicap today.
Ridden by Pat Smullen, Rock Critic led entering he straight and stretched clear for an effortless eight lengths win.
Weld later stated “Rock Critic is an odd type of horse and can give trouble entering stalls but today he was at his best behaviour and I was delighted to be drawn wideish with him.”
“He will run again at Naas on Monday.”
