Trainer Dermot Weld, jockey Pat Smullen and owner the Aga Khan completed a treble in the three maiden races at Gowran today, completing the feat with Edelpour in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden.
The trio were earlier successful with newcomers Joailliere and Serefeli with the once-raced Edelpour completing the hat-trick, when beating King Of Aragon by two and a quarter lengths.
The win, remarkably, was the seventh winner from seven runners this new season, Weld has trained for the Aga Khan and the former Champion Trainer later stated "he (Edelpour) is a nice horse and it was a good workmanlike performance. He stays, kept at it and it was a good solid drive from Pat.
"We'll look for a winners of one now."
