Philip Fenton registered his first winner since Last Instalment’s Grade 1 win and injury at Leopardstown last Sunday when his On My Own landed the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle at Navan today.
Jockey Rob Jones, partnering his third winner in five days, avoided trouble at the first flight (where Slim To None refused) before the pair eventually recorded a two and three parts of a length win over Sean Airgead
"After the horse jammed on at the first hurdle my lad didn’t settle so I let him go on," revealed the winning rider afterwards.
"He enjoyed himself out in front. I gave him a breather and kicked on again in the straight.”
