Welcome return to winners enclosure for Fahey
The Martin Kelly Hyundai Maiden Hurdle was won by the Paul Fahey trained The Bay Lad ridden by his nephew James Fahey. It was a welcome return for the trainer into the winners enclosure his last winner was back in 2004 with Knock Na Garm Lad.
The winning trainer said afterwards, "The horse deserved to win, James comes down and rides him out every day and James gave him a great ride. He'll have no problem staying further."
Emmet Mullins who got a heavy fall from Ronnie One at the second last hurdle has been taken to hospital for precautionary x-rays of his shoulder.
