Walshs strike with Devil
Devil's Elbow made a bright start to his jumping career when scoring in great style on his hurdling debut at Ballinrobe.
Katie Walsh teamed up with her father Ted aboard the Barry Connell-owned gelding and he ran out a convincing winner of the Purcell Construction Maiden Hurdle.
The four-year-old hit the lead before the turn and stormed clear before the last for an eight-length victory over 11/10 favourite Boxer Beat
The winner had taken an average looking bumper at Downpatrick last time and that victory obviously did him the world of good.
"He surprised me," admitted Walsh senior. "I thought he would run well but the jumping seems to have improved him.
"He'll go for a winners of one now at either Bellewstown or Galway."
