Final Endeavour was a first winner for Cavan native Meryem Walsh in the Tesoro Vita Ladies Trophy (Q.R.) Handicap.
The six-year-old, gaining the fourth win of his career, was always prominent, led before halfway and responded well to his rider's urgings in the straight to beat El Tren by two and a half lengths. Darraby was another three quarters of a length back in third.
Winning trainer Harry Rogers said: “She gave him a good ride and things went well. She deserves it.
“She works hard and does schooling on everything.
“He likes that ground and hopefully he’ll make a nice hurdle horse.”
The winning rider Walsh remarked: “I can’t believe that just happened. He jumped and travelled and was in my hands the whole time. I barely had to move on him, he was happy out and I couldn’t pull him up.
“The further the better and he got his ground today.
“Harry and Mary have been unbelievable to me and I wouldn’t be riding races without them.
“I only ride once a month if I’m lucky so this is unbelievable. I’ve been over and back to America the last four years.”
