Walsh hits a weekend six
Ruby Walsh's midas touch continued at Limerick today when the Champion Jockey partnered a double to bring his weekend tally to six winners.
One of last season's leading juvenile hurdlers, Beau Michael got back to winning ways, under Walsh, in the Michael Punch & Partners Hurdle while Reens Pike completed Walsh's double in the Pat Keogh BMW Handicap Hurdle.
Beau Michael made all and jumped well when scoring a comfortable eight length win.
Afterwards winning trainer Ado McGuinness reported "Beau Michael had the cob-webs taken off him in a Flat handicap at Navan on Wednesday and was a lot sharper today."
He added "there are no other 4yo only hurdles between now and Christmas so he may go back for another Flat handicap next. However, be jumps really well and will have no problem staying two and a half miles."
Half an hour later trainer Eric McNamara provided Walsh with his second winner, when Reens Pike proved a three and a half length winner of his handicap hurdle.
